When Daniel Ochefu joined the Villanova basketball program at the start of this season, he knew there would be one player on the squad that he would share quiet a few things in common with, that player is 6’10 Senior Mouphtaou Yarou. Just like Ochefu, Yarou is a West African native, he comes from the French speaking country of Benin Republic and they share a lot of similarities with the Nigerian culture, such as food, language and customs. As Yarou is about to close in on a standout career at Villanova, the bond that he shares with Ochefu will no doubt aid in the development of the 6’11 freshman…
“My mom makes this egusi soup,” Ochefu said. “It’s got spinach and different types of meats in it. That’s really helped [our relationship]. That wasn’t too bad.”
